ELANA – Sutureless CABG
ELANA – Sutureless CABG
• Laser-assisted, sutureless LITA–LAD anastomosis.
• Performed on a beating heart (off-pump) while maintaining coronary blood flow.
• Avoids technically demanding hand-sewn distal anastomosis, facilitating minimally invasive and robotic CABG, particularly where cardiac motion and limited working space make suturing challenging.
• Early results: 92.5% overall LIMA–LAD patency at 6 months, improving to 97.5% with the latest-generation laser catheter; longer-term data are needed.
