Fingertip PPG May Enable Non-Invasive Remote Monitoring of LV Filling Pressure
Source: JACC: Heart Failure | September 15, 2026.
• Seerlinq HeartCore uses fingertip photoplethysmography (PPG)—a light-based signal similar to that used in pulse oximeters—to estimate LV filling pressure (LVFP) non-invasively.
• In 131 HF patients, it showed excellent discrimination versus invasive PAWP (AUC 0.96) and good agreement with echocardiographic assessment (AUC 0.88).
• The signal changed significantly after loop-diuretic uptitration, supporting its potential for remote monitoring of treatment response.
• Not yet proven: whether HeartCore-guided monitoring reduces HF hospitalization or mortality; prospective outcome studies are still needed.
