1. Cardiac arrest in space is possible despite healthy astronauts (risks: shock, low oxygen, clots).
2. Manual CPR methods tested → very tiring, not meeting depth/rate targets.
3. Automated CPR devices tested → automated systems are the best option.
• Advantage: consistency, no fatigue, allows crew to handle other tasks.
