Background:<br \/>\n\u2022 Aortic surgeries now represent about 11% of all major cardiac surgeries in the U.S.<br \/>\n\u2022 Accurately assessing operative risk in complex aortic procedures remains a challenge.<br \/>\n3. Purpose:<br \/>\n\u2022 The calculator aims to empower surgeons with better risk evaluation tools, enhancing patient-family discussions and improving informed decision-making.<br \/>\n4. Development:<br \/>\n\u2022 Based on the STS National Database, covering data from more than 67,000 patients.<br \/>\n5. Procedural Groups Included:<br \/>\n\u2022 Bentall procedures (aortic valve replacement with root replacement)<br \/>\n\u2022 Ascending aorta + aortic valve replacement<br \/>\n\u2022 Valve-sparing root replacement<br \/>\n\u2022 Isolated ascending aorta surgery<br \/>\n6.
