What is it?<\/div>\n<div>The Coronary Sinus Reducer (CSR) is a small hourglass-shaped stent placed in the coronary sinus vein to raise pressure and improve blood flow in patients with refractory angina.<\/div>\n<div>2. Study Overview:<\/div>\n<div><span> \u2022 Meta-analysis of 16 studies (848 patients).<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span> \u2022 Included 3 high-quality, double-blind, placebo-controlled randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and 13 observational, unblinded single-arm studies.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>3. Safety:<\/div>\n<div><span> \u2022 Implant success: ~98%.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span> \u2022 No deaths or strokes during the procedure.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span> \u2022 Rare complications: device migration (1.5%), cardiac tamponade, device embolization.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>4. Benefits:<\/div>\n<div><span> \u2022 Improved angina class, quality of life scores, and exercise time.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span> \u2022 Improvements were larger in uncontrolled studies than in placebo-controlled trials \u2014 suggesting the real benefit may be smaller than early reports.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>5. Key Message for Clinicians:<\/div>\n<div><span> \u2022 CSR appears safe and may help certain patients with refractory angina, but strong placebo-controlled evidence is still lacking.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span> \u2022 Ongoing COSIRA-II trial will provide clearer answers.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>6.
