AI helps cardiologists significantly improve outcomes to terminate AF during atrial fibrillation ablation procedures

AI helps cardiologists significantly improve outcomes to terminate AF during atrial fibrillation ablation procedures.
1. Study Overview:
• New data presented at Heart Rhythm 2025 showed that artificial intelligence (AI) can significantly improve outcomes during atrial fibrillation (AFib) ablation procedures.
2. Technology Used – DeePRISM:
• Researchers focused on DeePRISM, an advanced AI algorithm designed to provide real-time feedback during ablation to maximize the chances of terminating AFib.
• DeePRISM was trained on data from 110 patients with persistent AFib undergoing ablation.
3. Key Findings:
• The AI helped achieve acute AFib termination in 40% of patients during ablation.
• It also contributed to better long-term results, with up to 70% of patients remaining free from recurrent AFib after two years.
4. Researcher Insights:
• Dr. Chih-Min Liu from Taipei Veterans General Hospital emphasized that DeePRISM represents a major advancement in electrophysiology, improving both procedural success and patient safety.
5. Heart Rhythm 2025 Highlights:
• Heart Rhythm 2025 marks the 46th annual meeting of the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS).
• The event received over 3,400 scientific abstracts and expected nearly 10,000 attendees, including clinicians, researchers, and industry leaders.
• HRS also recently issued guidelines on developing AFib Centers of Excellence and recommended protocols for same-day discharge after cardiac ablation.
We hope to implement similar initiatives in Jordan, raising our country’s name high while also attracting patients from the region to benefit from top-quality AFib care delivered by our experts!
