Optimal Potassium Range in Heart Failure: 4.2–5.0 mmol/L
* Individual patient-level meta-analysis of 12 randomized HF trials including more than 46,000 patients with HFrEF and HFpEF.
* Across both HF phenotypes, a serum potassium level of 4.2–5.0 mmol/L was associated with the lowest risk of death and first HF hospitalization.
* In HFrEF, hypokalemia (<3.5 mmol/L) was associated with a 49% higher risk of all-cause mortally
* Mild hyperkalemia (5.0–5.5 mmol/L) was not associated with excess risk
