hsTn-I in Stable CAD
hsTn-I in Stable CAD
(Elevation in high-sensitivity troponin (hsTn) levels within the “normal non–myocardial infarction (MI) range”)
Source: Medscape | Oct 23, 2026 | JACC 2026
Low-level hsTn-I may still be “negative” for acute MI, yet predict long-term risk.
• 816 stable CAD patients, follow-up 5.9 years.
• Median hsTn-I 4.8 pg/mL (Abbott ARCHITECT) — not an MI cutoff.
• Every 2× increase in hsTn-I → 35% ↑ MACE and 53% ↑ CV death.
• hsTn-I outperformed stress-test ischemia for prognosis.
Bottom line: Even low troponin levels that do not indicate acute MI can identify higher-risk patients with stable CAD.
