Summary: Cardiologists make history, perform world’s first-in-human ventricular ablation guided by MRI(First Ventricular Ablation Guided by Real-Time MRI).
.Source : Recently featured in a top international medical report (April 2025).Published: April 23, 2025.

1. Historic Procedure:
• Cardiologists at Amsterdam University Medical Center (AUMC) performed the world’s first ventricular ablation guided by real-time MRI.
2. Technology Used:
• The procedure used Imricor’s Vision-MR Ablation Catheter and NorthStar Mapping System.
• It marked the launch of the VISABL-VT clinical trial, focused on treating ventricular tachycardia related to ischemic cardiomyopathy.
3. Key Firsts:
• First ventricular ablation using real-time MRI guidance.
• Also the first left-sided ablation done under MRI guidance.
4. Why MRI is Better:
• MRI provides clearer anatomical views, including blood vessels and valves, and allows real-time visualization of tissue changes during the ablation.
• Unlike X-rays, it shows the entire heart region in greater detail.
5. Institutional Excellence:
• AUMC is ranked the No. 1 hospital in the Netherlands and one of the top in the world, according to Newsweek.
6. Clinical Impact:
• The procedure was successful, the patient is doing well, and the arrhythmia was eliminated.
• This represents a major step toward safer, more precise, and radiation-free cardiac ablation techniques.
The article was highlighted by MDPI publications, as they have published related research on MRI-guided cardiac ablation. https://cardiovascularbusiness.us13.list-manage.com/track/click?u=ede357a4dde4e6d1363fede03&id=af5ececc68&e=e8ff1dad3e
