Left Main PCI vs CABG – 10-Year Outcomes
• New meta-analysis of 4,394 patients with left main coronary artery disease (LMCAD) compared PCI with drug-eluting stents versus CABG.
• Most patients had low-to-intermediate SYNTAX scores (mean 25).
• No significant difference in 10-year all-cause mortality:
• PCI: 23.5%
• CABG: 23.1%
• Results may not apply to patients with more complex coronary anatomy (high SYNTAX scores, extensive multivessel disease, or very complex left main disease).
• Findings reinforce the importance of individualized Heart Team decision-making.
