From PARTNER 3 to PARTNER 2A: TAVI Passes the 10-Year Durability Test
From PARTNER 3 to PARTNER 2A: TAVI Passes the 10-Year Durability Test
• PARTNER 3 (NEJM 2023, 5-year follow-up) demonstrated comparable outcomes between TAVI and SAVR in low-risk patients.
• New PARTNER 2A 10-year data (JACC 2026) provide reassuring evidence for long-term TAVI durability in intermediate-risk patients.
• With the newer Sapien 3 valve, mortality and valve reintervention rates were similar to SAVR at 10 years.
• Findings support TAVI as a durable lifetime solution for many elderly patients (>80 years).
• Long-term durability in younger, low-risk patients remains under evaluation pending 10-year results from contemporary low-risk trials.
